This is a complete two-volume set of the "Nihon Toko Jiten" (Dictionary of Japanese Swordsmiths), authored by Yoshio and Matsuo Fujishiro. The set includes the "Koto" (Old Swords) volume published in 1975 and the "Shinto" (New Swords) volume published in 1974 (10th edition).
The books feature extensive Japanese text detailing swordsmiths and their characteristics, accompanied by numerous "oshigata" (ink rubbings of sword tangs and blades). Both volumes are bound in red hardcovers with gold lettering and come with their original cardboard slipcases.
The items are in vintage condition, showing signs of aging. The original slipcases have handwritten Japanese characters, edge wear, and minor tears. The books themselves exhibit natural discoloration and minor surface scuffs.
