Beschreibung
This is a Japanese "suiseki" (viewing stone), specifically a polished "kikkaseki" (chrysanthemum stone) originating from Gifu Prefecture. It comes with a custom-fitted wooden base (daiza).
The stone features a smooth, polished surface with a dark green and reddish-brown matrix. It displays distinct, multi-colored (white and red) radiating mineral formations. This specific type is known as "kujaku kikkaseki" (peacock chrysanthemum stone) because the colorful floral patterns resemble the feathers of a peacock. The bottom of the stone has been cut flat for stability.
Height: 8.6 cm / 3.38 in
Width: 12.0 cm / 4.72 in
Depth: 5.5 cm / 2.16 in
Weight: 935 g / 2.06 lbs
The item is a natural stone in vintage condition, showing signs of aging. There are natural fissures, inherent mineral inclusions, and minor surface wear. The bottom is flat-cut, and the wooden base has slight wear with an old paper label attached to the underside.
Please check the photos carefully for details.
