Japanese Kujaku Peacock Tenmoku Matcha Tea Bowl Chawan Matsuyama Gaei Box

This is a Japanese matcha tea bowl (chawan) with a Kujaku (peacock) Tenmoku glaze, created by the potter Matsuyama Gaei. It comes with its original signed wooden storage box (tomobako).

The bowl features a purple and pink glaze decorated with distinct blue-green spots resembling peacock feathers. The interior center shows a clustered, light blue crystallization pattern. The exterior lower section is unglazed, revealing the natural clay, with prominent glaze drips. The artist's seal is stamped on the base inside the foot ring.
