Japanese Cast Iron Choshi Sake Kettles Set of 2 Kamon Inscription BOSa42

This is a matching pair of vintage to Antique  Japanese cast iron choshi (sake kettles) used in traditional ceremonies or gatherings. Both vessels are crafted from heavy cast iron with an overhead handle, a fitted iron lid with a decorative knob, and a long pouring spout.

The body of each kettle features raised kanji characters and symbols cast directly into the iron. One side displays a circular mark containing the hiragana character "や" (Ya), alongside inscriptions that include the name "小川" (Ogawa) and "稲" (Ina). The opposing side is adorned with a traditional Japanese family crest (kamon) featuring a stylized wisteria or vine motif, flanked by the name "上村" (Kamimura). The surfaces have a rough, textured finish characteristic of traditional cast ironware.
