This is a Japanese Shinto "Shinkyo" (sacred mirror) set, consisting of a metal alloy mirror and a carved wooden stand.
The front of the mirror features a large, stylized multi-petaled chrysanthemum crest (kikumon) in relief, alongside incised characters that appear to read "Tenka Taihei" (Peace on Earth). The reverse side is plain and unpolished. The mirror rests on a highly detailed, hand-carved wooden stand designed with swirling clouds or wave motifs.
